Let the games begin! The CYD? Masterclass Games is returning on June 16, 2024 at the stunning new venue, Winter Gardens Blackpool! Dancers, both schools, and individual dancers from all corners of the UK are invited to compete for the prestigious BRONZE, SILVER, or GOLD medals in our renowned CYD? Masterclasses!

How It Works

Step 1 - Enter the Games

Dancers enter the Masterclass Games by participating in the classes. Prior to the event, dancers will have the opportunity to create the ultimate dance timetable from over 40 masterclasses. Dancers can compete in 3 age categories, these include Junior 7-9, Inter 10-13 and Senior 14-18. Dancers aged 19+ are welcome to attend but won’t be able to compete.

Step 2 - The Judging begins

During the masterclasses, dancers are judged on the choreography learnt during that session, therefore nothing is pre prepared giving everyone an equal opportunity. If dancers do not wish to be judged during any or all sessions they can take off their allocated number and just enjoy the class without the pressure of competing.

Step 3 - The Leaderboard

At the end of each class, the CYD? Faculty will award 3 bronze, 2 silver and 1 gold CYD? Medal. To encourage all abilities, medals won’t always be awarded to the most technically trained dancers as it’s important to also recognise a dancers individuality and performance. The results will then be officially added to the live leaderboard.

Step 4 - The Closing Ceremony

The main trophies, awards, certificates, scholarships & prizes will be presented at the end of the day during our CYD? Presentation Ceremony. Both individual dancers and participating schools will be given 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies, determined by the total number of medals they have all earned during the day.

HOW TO WIN AWARDS

For dance schools & individual dancers the aim is to top the leader board & win as many medals as possible during the event. Medal results are officially counted throughout the day & added to our live medal table displayed on the big screen in the main arena so you can keep track of your progress.

The Winter Gardens Blackpool - New venue for 2024!
Address: 97 Church St, Blackpool FY1 1HL
Parking: The Winter Gardens does not have on-site public parking, but there are many situated nearby the venue, such as the Houndshill car park. Open air, ground level parking is also available on the corner of Adelaide Street and Alfred Street approx 200m from the Church Street entrance. There is also limited metered street-parking available close-by.
