Accessibility

CYD? aims to take a progressive and proactive approach to neurodiversity & sensory sensitivities, which may cause people to feel overwhelmed at events.

We appreciate that, at times, CYD? events will have high levels of sensory input particularly with regards to noise. Due to the nature of the event it is not possible for us to reduce the volume of our classes and performances but we hope that providing sensory expectations will help visitors to prepare accordingly. Use of sensory aids such as ear defenders are always welcome.

The busiest times at each event will be during the Masterclasses, College Performance & Competition, please see the times below:-

Masterclass Times:-

9.30am – 10.10am, 10.20am – 11.00am, 11.10am – 11.50pm, 12.30pm – 1.10pm, 1.20pm – 2.00pm, 2.10pm – 2.50pm.

College Performance Time:- 12pm

Competition & Awards Time:- 3.20pm – 5:00pm

We also acknowledge that those with autism and other neurodiverse conditions may feel more comfortable attending a CYD? event with a clear routine for the day and a knowledge of venue they are attending in advance. To help with this forward planning we have collated below accessibility information for each of our venues including pictures of the inside and outside. We have also included a blank timetable for you to personalise your event day and include notes of any rest breaks, sensory support etc you may need.
